MB Tools: Real Online Status

The tool `Real Online Status` is a HUD that displays the online status of avatars reliably (contrary to the SL friends list). In addition the online status of avatars, who are not part of the friends list, can be displayed, too. The status online will even then be recognized if the avatar has blanked you out, i.e. if his online status is only visible for friends. A maximum of 40-50 Avatars (depending on the name length) can be displayed simultaneously.

INSTALLATION:

Rezz the purchased Box, open it and copy the content into your inventory. There a folder called `MB Tools: Real Online Status` will be created. In it you will find the HUD and the documentation.

USE:
Click on the HUD in the inventory with the right mouse button and then select `Wear`. The HUD will appear on your screen. You can – like with any other HUD - drag it around on your screen as you wish. Those avatars whose online status you want to be shown, will be displayed automatically as soon as you entered them.

CONFIGURATION:

First please do reset the HUD (right click ... Edit ... Tools ... Reset scripts in selection)
By clicking on the HUD a menu will appear. Here the following configuration options will be available to you:

Main menu:

Help: Produces this documentation.

Options: selects a sub menu, where you will find more configuration options.

Scan: Performs manually (independent of the preconfigured scan interval) another online scan and updates the list of avatars who are currently online.

Add: If you click on this button, you can add individual avatars whose online status should be displayed, to your list through Chat, e.g.:
/11 Miriam Ballinger
or - if you get the message 'No key found for ...", simply add the key of the avatar:
/11 Miriam Ballinger 719e0393-bd3d-4f10-9111-9fa006ee17a4
You can't determine the key of such an avatar using the Real Online Status tools. To determine the key, please use the attached key detector. Rez it and let the avatar click on it. Then you see theavatar's key.

Remove: If you click on this button, you can remove individual avatars by using chat from your list of avatars whose online status should be displayed, e.g. /11 Miriam Ballinger (Note: Add and Remove work on the same chat channel. Therefore you have to click on the respective button before adding / removing avatars.

List: displays all avatar names whose online status should be monitored.

Online: displays all avatars who are currently online

Avatar’s key: If you click on this button, you will see the individual avatar key of the avatar whose name you entered in chat mode, e.g.: /11 Miriam Ballinger

Sub menu:

..BACK: With ..BACK you get back to the main menu

Chat channel: Here you can select the chat channel that is used with the buttons Add, Remove and Avatar’s key in chat mode.

Free memory: Here you can see the remaining free memory. You can add avatar names to your list, as long as the free memory of the script `ros` doesn’t reach 0. Generally 40 – 50 names are possible (depending on the length of the name)

Sound ON / Sound OFF: With Sound ON/OFF you can select if there is a sound when an avatar goes online.

Notify ON / Notify OFF: With Notify ON/OFF you can select if a message will be displayed on your screen when an avatar goes online or offline.

Float ON / Float OFF: With Float ON/OFF you can select if the avatars, who are currently online will be displayed as hover text above the HUD.

Interval: Here you can adjust the time interval for scanning the online status.

Read names: All avatars you have entered in the file avatarnames will be added automatically to the list of avatars to be monitored by clicking on this button. A tedious adding one by one by using Chat won’t be necessary with multiple avatars. Simply add the names to the file avatarnames (Select the HUD in edit mode, select Tab Content, open the file avatarnames and add the avatar names), e.g.
