Looking and looking for a nice Zen garden to meditate in, to do my morning yoga in, or just to chill.... What do I find ? Nice gardens at twenty or more LI ; and nice mesh gardens that vanish so quickly as you walk away you thing someone has moved them ; and some just not nice gardens.
So I decide to make my own... This garden is made of sixteen sand and gravel beds, over three levels, with four ramps leading up to a central platform. It is copy / mod, so you can change the sand and gravel textures if you want, and stretch it in any direction you want as well. I personally use a small version to display my bonsai collection and a larger one with a yoga mat for morning exercise.
The build ethic... was simple, low LI is good but not a holy grail, I did manage to get a 1.6 LI version but it did the mesh disappearing trick way too fast. This was designed by a landscape architect and built by an engineer [I am both by trade] to find the happy medium of aesthetic appeal and land impact. To this end the build is meticulous allowing me not to cut corners on the mid and long range LOD factors.
LI - as delivered it is at 3 and measures 4m x 4m
at 5 LI it measures 5.1x5.1m and at 8 it measures 6.4 x 6.4.
I did consider bundling some water feature and bamboo and a rake with this garden, but in the end I decided to stick to my policy of only selling original items under the MM name, and you can go out and accessorise this garden as you see fit.
