Decent Start!

Worth checking out, but....

Like almost every single inexperienced weapon maker in SL (and elsewhere) who hasn't handled any real rifles, this model suffers from the HUGE problem of being, well... HUGE.
It needs to be reduced in SIZE by 27%-42%. Right now, it's about 4.5' long (2+m).
If you're into comical weapons, then great. Otherwise, can't recommend yet.

The textures are decent, (could use a bit more highlight overall, and end of silencer and mags need more work). Also two other weaknesses are in where prims were spent in modelling, and where they were skipped (hollow that scope out and make it 2 pieces only, with an alpha texture for the lenses; reduce innards- no one will ever see them; remove 1/2 bullets; too detailed for SL-!!!)...

I had to adjust position for a few minutes to get it to sit right with any size AV as well -something most weapon makers skip on, but adds SO much to how it looks as these things are NOT made out of cardboard or plastic, and characters need to support them and tuck in the stock to the arm pit and hold the grips, etc.

All in all, a GREAT START. don't be discouraged. I'm harsh but I know modeling and AO is often touch and tedious. Keep up the good work- get the SIZE correct and then edit the textures (or send them to me and I'll do it for ya) a little and consider the prims and what's necessary or extraneous- or make an edit with a lower-lag model missing some of the higher-rez stuff.*grin*

check it out!!
