The globe features richly detailed land surfaces and ocean floors, with an image obtained from the NASA.Earth Observatory. It rotates slowly from the west toward the east and is tilted at the proper 23.5 degree angle.
The antique maps include one made by Abraham Ortelius in 1570, and one made in 1685 by Joachim Bormeester.
The maps and the globe come with their own beautifully textured mesh tables for displaying them.
