Magic Carpet

The Magic carpet is a tool to assist you in exploring the Second Life Mainland. It is comprised of three components:

1.A HUD (Heads Up Display) that displays at the top, center of the screen

2.A carpet, which is rezzed by the HUD when needed that transports you across the mainland

3.A growing series of tours (currently 17) that guide you from one end of SL to the other

One could, of course, explore by simply walking, flying or teleporting, The Magic Carpet, simplifies this process in various ways. The following describes the features of the Magic Carpet:

•You can explore any part of the mainland by simply rezzing the Magic Carpet and selecting a tour. You are automatically teleported to the starting location of the tour and proceed.

•You don’t have to be alone on your trip. Invite a companion to the seat next to you

.•You can stop and start your the carpet by simply clicking a control on your HUD. You can then cam however long you need to whatever interested you.

•You can alter the carpet’s speed to slow down when you’re in a area of interest, or speed up when not.

•If you decide that you want to take a closer look at someplace you just passed, you can instruct the HUD to reverse direction and retrace your path.

•If you decide you want to spend more time at a particular spot, perhaps to chat with someone or do some shopping, you can “park” the carpet for up to 30 minutes and then resume the tour when you’re done.
