Using this item:
The Halloween Pumpkin Kit is a 3-prim object: the stem, the solid orange flesh, and a transparent shell, ready for any texture dropped onto it. You only need to modify by adding your texture to the transparent shell. Create a texture (using Photoshop, Gimp, Microsoft Paint, etc.) of any size with a ratio of about 2.40:1, this means the width is 2.4 times the height. The pixel size of the texture does not matter, as SL will take care of it on the upload. You'll want to place your artwork somewhere around the equator, so experiment with the amount of empty space necessary on the top and bottom. White artwork on a transparent texture will allow your artwork to be tinted in-world, otherwise WYSIWYG and non-transparent textures will also work. The pumpkin's surface is sphere mapped, so spherical ready textures such as the Earth, small moons, the Death Star, atomic models, etc., will all work.
