MACRIS (ΜΑΚΡΙΣ) was a honey-nymph daughter of the rustic-god Aristaios (Aristaeus) who fed and nursed nfant Dionysus with honey, in a cave on the island of Euboia, after he was brought to her by Hermes.
She was later driven from her home by the wrathful goddess Hera and settled on Korkyra (Corycra), home of the Phaiakes (Phaeacians). She was also known as Nysa, and in this guise often multiplied into a group of Nysiades.
