This model was built to accompany a talk on the formula used to generate the Mandelbrot Set, but could easily be used to illustrate any feedback mechanism.
The footprint is 4m x 2m, but can be scaled and oriented to suite any environment.
To operate, the model is clicked. A ball will then appear above the funnel and drop. It is seen through the viewing window to change size and colour, accompanied by a flash of light, and then rolls out to the end pocket. The ball is immediately returned to the starting point, and repeats the process. This happens 5 times, the whole sequence taking about a minute. The ball finally disappears automatically, being temporary.
The dropping and rolling of the ball is accompanied by a sound effect.
