LOTS of FUN
There are a lot of vehicles in SL and the models range from 'meh' to 'gorgeous', but the real issue is how they feel when driving them, most use the ancient, no-longer-supported, really crappy ACS scripts. Very few vehicle creators take the time to fine-tune those ancient, depreciated scripts to where the driving experience is decent. Though I generally refuse to ever buy anything that uses those scripts (live-and-learn, right?)
So I was intrigued when I saw this thing on Market Place and I even remember seeing real life photographs and video of these, though never seen one in real life. So I popped over to Manji's in-world shop to have a closer look-see and I'm impressed with the beauty of these and the great LOD (they don't fall apart at 30 meters away).
It took a while, but I finally found the rez-a-demo area (I refuse to buy any vehicle unless I can drive it and see how it feels) and I was sharply impressed!
These use Manji's own scripts (only two compared to the ACS 10 or 15 scripts) and all of his (her?) vehicles drive wonderfully! So smoothly that I am even able to stay on the road (in first gear) all throughout Bellisseria's tight turns and zig-zag avenues! On longer straights, as in Heterocera Atoll and other places, I can crank it up to third gear with no problem at all.
Driving this feels natural and fluid and lag-spikes won't send you into someone's house. The one and only "complaint" I could possibly have is that I wish first gear were a little slower and I didn't have to hold the "throttle" key down constantly (The Atomic Infinity trucks are the perfect solution in this regard) - but this "complaint" really is more a wish than anything else.
Whether you buy a single vehicle for 2K or this fat-pack (I love fat-packs) - you won't go wrong. If the vehicle style is to your liking, the driving experience will match, if not surpass it.
