Mars Shoutcast Music Monitor Version 3

The Mars Shoutcast Music Monitor will obtain information every minute or so from your Shoutcast radio and say the current song on chat plus display as hover text for a short while & as text on the front.

You must be the parcel owner or if group owned then this must be deeded to the same group to operate this effectively. If you do not own the parcel or the system cannot detect a Shoutcast radio station then click the monitor to set the URL manually.
Once rezzed others may use it (see touching) to get more details on the current track and recent (last 20) tracks played.

Setup
-------

1. If not already done so, set your favourite Shoutcast radio station up in About Land/Sound or by script
eg: http://marsproductions.ddns.net:8000

2. Rez the monitor anywhere on the parcel. If the parcel is deeded to a group then the object must be deeded the same group to be able to pick up the URL of your Shoutcast server.

3. Edit the settings notecard file in the monitor contents if required (they come into effect as soon as you save them back to the monitor

4. If the Shoutcast radio station is not picked up automatically then clicking the monitor will bring an owner text box up where the URL may be manually entered (including http etc).

The "settings" notecard may be edited to :

a. change the channels the songs are reported to (just a line starting with a number. 0 of course goes to chat, 1234 will go to channel 1234 and picked up by any script listening on that channel in the region. -1 is a special case and causes hovertext to be updated for about 1 min each time the track changes.

b. any email address for hourly reporting (no hard limit to the number of email addresses you can add here but each will delay the script 20 secs)

c. fix the URL of the station to be monitored overriding the parcel settings. Format must start "http".

Touching
----------

Clicking the monitor will give details of the current track plus a list of the last 20 tracks detected (may not be accurate if tracks are under 1 minute long).

If you are the owner and the URL is wrong/service suspended then the URL may be entered into the text box that comes up.
