What does it do
-----------------
The Control Zone will prevent those wearing attachments with the RLV Relay (such as Mars Ring) from open chat and Teleporting. The relay must be switched on in the rings by their owners to have effect.
Menu options
---------------
Options the owner and keyholders get
Instructions - This note
Start - starts scanning (scan rate will automatically adjust based on number of avatars in the scan area)
Stop - stops scan and releases restraints on registered subjects
Restraints - Restraint menu
Set Range - jumps to another menu to set ranges
Upgrade Control - after rezzing the Mars Upgrader click on this to upgrade your product to a later version.
Give Key - provides the owner with a key they can set and give away to others they trust to operate the control zone (see General Menu options). Note key code should be set by clicking new key.
New Key - generates a pseudo random key. These keys are remembered over resets of the Zone.
Self - includes the owner in the restraints (you are treated like anyone else)
No Self (default) - you are never restrained or attacked.
Incl. Group - includes those in the same group as the MCZ in the restraints
Excl. Group (default) - group members are excluded (treated as DOMs)
Range menu
-------------
Ranges are in metres (R 10 = circular range of 10 m) the MCZ scans.
You have two range modes of operation depending on if you want to scan a 3 dimensional (spherical) zone or an area at the same (Z-axis) altitude
Room - Zone will operate in a room (0 - 5m above the Zone is targeted - you can change this range & set other rectangular areas using the Control Zone DOM notecard)
Sphere - Zone will operate as a Sphere centred around the Zone itself
example 1: a Room of 30m range will scan a cylinder 30m radius and 5m high from the position of the MCZ.
example 2: a Sphere of 30m range will scan a sphere of 30m radius from the position of the MCZ.
To adjust the vertical range when using the Room option simply edit the Control Zone DOM notecard in the MCZ. Add two lines as follows:
+height above MCZ in m
-depth below MCZ in m
eg:
+10
-5
Will, when used with the Room option, will result in scans +10/-5m above/below the MCZ.
For more advanced users the room mode may be extended to cover any cube (or group of cuboid zones). You need to provide diagonally (3 dimensional) corners of each cube. Each cube is therefore provided as 2 pairs of data as below:
<minx,miny,minz>
<maxx,maxy,maxz>
or this may be expressed on one line with a "|" separating the vectors
<minx,miny,minz>|<maxx,maxy,maxz>
Note: there must be pairs of corners for this to work (i.e. an even number of entries).
Will set the minimum & maximum corners of a cuboid shape for accurate positioning. It doesn't matter where within that area (or just outside that area if you prefer) the zone it situated as the coordinates are absolute and the range of scans is automatically adjusted to include that shape.
Note for Rooms where you have specified the corner vectors as above; when the zone is started beacons are created (30 secs then they die) in each corner to ensure you have got the position correct.
Exclusions to zone are also possible using the 2nd format by adding additional vector pairs to the end of the list. eg:-
<min zone>|<max zone>|<min exclusion zone>|<max exclusion zone>....
This will create a zone from <min zone> to <max zone> but exclude a box which may (or may not) be inside that zone from .<min exclusion zone> to <max exclusion zone>.
Boxes may overlap.
Rules are :-
An avatar can only be in the control zone
- IF they are in one or more of the zones
and
- they are in NONE of the exclusion zones.
If you need help with this talk to Mars.
Example:
<0,0,0>|<255,255,100>|<120,120,10>|<130,130,20>
Creates a whole region zone from 0m to 100m excluding a small 10m high box near the center of the region.
