If you have read the account recorded by Mr. H.G. Wells, then you know that our planet was recently invaded by hostile forces from Mars. He called it a "War of the Worlds" - though world authorities have since attempted to claim the incident, and Mr. Well's autobiographical account, are mere fiction.
But the invasion indeed happened! My homeland of Caledon was among the nations forced to repel the alien hoard. (Or at least keep them at bay until they all- quite mysteriously- keeled over dead!)
After the ordeal was over, and before authorities moved in to silently clean up the mess, I happened by chance upon one of the downed Martian Tripods. I was unable to move the gargantuan machine- but I salvaged what technology I could from its carcass. Though I don't fully understand it, what I took from that alien ship has formed the basis of many of my fantastic steam-powered inventions.
This wearable Robot (or Mech) Avatar was my first creation to mix Martian and Steam Tech into one. This steam-powered Robot carries his own furnace- heated by an eerie green glowing substance. He clanks as he walks, and constantly emits the sounds of heavy machinery chugging and an uncomfortably familiar Martian Probe sound (taken from War of the Worlds, 1953). Click his head, and he emits a loud Alien Call (taken from War of the Worlds, 2005). Click the special "button" on his back, and his exhaust pipes hiss as they release jets of steam. Lots of polished brass, flexi tentacles, green "light rays" and working gears. This AV turns heads!
