It is not yet completely known what this space-time anomaly really is. However most of the time it does seem to be harmless, although it does have stunning effect on everyone who gazes at it too long.
It's spatial dimension seems to vary, but it is small most of the times, unless a sentient being steps close enough to it, then it expands with an impressive burst and begins to pulse.
This behavior has lead to theories that these anomalies lead to a dimension sensible to emotions and thoughts, while others say these anomalies might be alive themselves.
Anomalies like this sometimes occure by accidents, caused by overdriven reactors.
