Medieval Dishes Rezzer

Another item to enhance your medieval roleplay. Rezz as many dishes as you like to bring your tavern or longhall to life and serve your clan members and guests some historically authentic daily medieval food and beverages.

How it works:
The Medieval dishes rezzer contains a wooden plate rezzing several handcrafted medieval meals, a wooden cup rezzing different beverages and a matching cutlery set.
To fill plate and cup, just click on the plate and the cup and make your choice from the menu.
There is no automatic clear function, you have to clear your dishes manually with help of the menu.

Best practic is to set the access via security menu to public or group, so that roleplayers can indicate they finished their meal by clearing the dishes.

Historical viking and medieval peasant food

The idea that the Vikings sat around a pig roasting over the grill every evening is more fantasy than historical truth.
The fact is that the ordinary medieval people did not eat meat that often, simply because it was not possible to go hunting every day.
In addition to various types of hunted meat, there was mainly fish, both fried and pickled. But far more often the Vikings ate cooked food, the most common food was skause, a cooked meat stew.
The everyday bread of the Vikings was a kind of cereal flatbread.
Various vegetables were known and used, such as carrots, cabbage, beans and peas - but no potatoes or tomatoes were yet known in medieval europe.
Also there were berries, wild apples and hazelnuts as part of the viking food - and of course skyr or similar dairy products.
I tried to model the food items according to these historical information. The wooden cups were the most common form of drinking dish, the famouse viking mead horn was only used in ceremonies or on special occasions.
