Thank you for your interest in Merlin Machines Engineering Module, one of the most detailed and functional Engineering Rooms available in Second Life. Patterned after a popular science fiction television show about an intrepid starship crew voyaging across the vastness of space to get home. The Engineering module is 3 decks, connected by people lifts and includes:
* Installable/Ejectable Warp Reactor
* Chief of Engineering office/conference room, Vice CoE office, and ODN Junction Bay, Rezzable Room Sets
* Working customizable LCARS displays
* Damage Control engineering "pool table" console that can be connected to other RP Sets
The centerpiece of the module is undoubtedly the Matter/Antimatter Reactor Manifold (M/ARM) also referred to as the warp core. To Install a warp core:
1) Open the Warp Reactor Access Ports
2) Reactor Vessel Clamps
3) Plasma Transfer Conduits (PTCs)
4) coolant pumps are offline
5) Matter/Antimatter injectors
ctivating the Warp Core Installation
6) Close the access ports
7) Secure the reactor vessel clamps
8) Engage the PTCs.
9) Bring the cooling system online.
10) ring the injectors online.
11) initiate the matter/antimatter reaction
POWER OUTPUT
The PLUS (+) and MINUS (-) controls will increase or decrease the power output of the reactor. Normal range (10-70%) can be run indefinitely as long as the coolant system is online. A Level at or above 80% can be run for a period of time, but the temperature will begin to rise. In emergency, short-term situations the reactor can be safely run at 110-120% but if allowed to run hot for too long, the warp core will shut down and will not restart until the temperature returns to "mid-green" level.
INTERMIX FORMULAS
This generation of M/ARM has the ability to experiment with various intermix formulas. Immediately above the Warp Reactor Core Control Interface console you will find the intermix formula selector.
EJECTING THE CORE
The only protocols that are absolutely necessary for ejecting the M/ARM into space are:
1) Open reactor access ports.
2) Disengage the reactor vessel clamps.
3) Retract the PTC Conduits.
Once these conditions are met the core can be ejected.
There is also a containment force field that should be able to with hold small to medium sized plasma or coolant leaks.
PERSONNEL LIFTS
To either side of the warp core are 2 lifts. There is no need to sit on the lift, just step aboard and touch one of the sub-deck numbers (1, 2, or 3) on the wall.
ENGINEERING POOL TABLE CONSOLE
Also included in the RP Set is a "Pool Table" console that functions as a Damage Control Board. Touch key areas of the starship graphic and you can set the status of that system to Offline, Damaged, Under Repair, and others. If you also have the Intrepid Starship Deck 1 RP Set, There is a duplicate board at the engineering station on the bridge and changes on either board are reflected on the other.
REZZED SUB_SETS
Three of the four internal doors (2 mid-deck, 2 mezzanine) will rez sets that will not be used constantly. The upper mezzanine level has a combination Chief of Engineering office and Engineering Conference area. Opposite this room is the Vice Chief of Engineering's office. On the mid-level are two rooms: the Optical Data Network (ODN) junction bay which connects most areas of the ship to the computer network and an empty room you may populate as you see fit. I am available for some assistance in creating a custom set, or remove the doors and frame if you want to install a Turbolift stop.
OPTIONAL SUB-SETS
You should be able to copy and edit the existing sub-sets (Eng Conference Room, ODN Junction Bay, and VCoE Office) for specialized rooms or just to add your personal touch to the set. From time to time I may release rooms designed to fit with the Engineering Module. Currently there is an Antimatter Storage Bay RP Set designed to connect to the lower level (the Pit).
