[Updates: June 2012: Supports slice parameter.
Sept 2011: Works with SL's new prim sizes up to 64m. Works with even larger prims (mega), except as noted at end of description. Tested on flexis and there is no rotation or path cut problem that shows up in previous tools. Latest version: v1.4. Rez updater cube to trigger updates.]

XOPH's Mirror Tool transforms linksets into mirrored versions, including mirrored texture settings. It's menu-driven and only a single script is involved. No "mirror prim" is needed, but you can use one if you like. It has some features not found in other linkset mirrors (see "fix" and 7 axis options below). XOPH's mirror is now the most copied mirror tool design in SL.

VIDEO DEMO: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=07tym5TVjgU

Note: full functionality requires full-perm objects, for texture and sculpted prims.

There are some limitations, described at the bottom, as with all mirror tools. Don't believe sellers that claim their tool does "every" shape. LSL scripts do not have control of all parameters, and some combinations of parameters don't mirror exactly with any technique.

---------------------------------
INSTRUCTIONS:
1) Drop script into object (linkset)
2) Touch for menu
3) To transform, click an axis (or mirror prim option discussed below). There are 7 axis options: 3 world, 3 root-local, or use mirror prim as reference.
The object geometry transforms and then a second menu appears.
4) In second menu, click Yes to adjust textures (requires full perm).
After textures adjust, a third menu appears.
5) Pick one of these options in the third menu:
Delete Script - to clean up if you are done.
Fix - fixes misplaced prims in case link limits caused trouble.
(runs a more complex, but slower, prim arranger)
TOPMENU - to mirror again

NOTE: Do not take the mirrored object into inventory until the script inside is deleted. Otherwise, the perms may appear to change.

IN CASE OF MISPLACED PRIMS: The script will auto-detect and notify you of off-target prims in chat. These result from linkset rule limits (usually for very large linksets). The "Fix" menu command fixes these in most cases.
---------------------------------

Step 3 MIRROR PRIM OPTION
Besides World and Local axes, linksets can also be reflected around any mirror position and rotation. To reflect around a mirror object, place the "XOPH Mirror Prim" nearby and pick "Scan Mirror" in the top menu.
--------------------------------

DUPLICATING OBJECTS
The script is not a cloner, so here is how to make a mirrored object COPY:
1) Use drag-copy to copy the object (go into Edit, hold shift, and drag arrows on object).
2) If you're using the mirror prim, click "Ctrl-z" (undo) immediately after the copy step to restore position so the copy and the original overlap exactly.
3) Continue with main instruction steps.
(to get a menu after inserting a script, you can use the right-click menu to touch the object active in Edit, to deal with the overlapping objects).

------------------------------
CAPABILITIES and LIMITATIONS
- Works with most standard prims, with some exceptions listed later (e.g., tapered sphere).
- Works with sculpties if full perm.
- Works with large prims: All sizes supported except that above 64m, box-type prims must have equal X and Y sizes.
- Reflects textures and other per-face settings (color, alpha, glow, shiny, fullbright, etc.), even inside hollow prims.
- Auto-detects any misplaced prims (SL link limits) and gives "Fix" option in menu that corrects this in most cases.
- Flexi prims: Handles flexis, even with path cut. On some viewers, you may need to "take a copy" to update rendering (twisted flexis).
- Includes updater to get new versions free.
- Handles sliced prims (v1.4)
- Does NOT handle some settings involving revolutions or top shear for torus, ring, tube. Some can be fixed up by hand, but others just aren't good for mirroring by any technique.
- Does NOT handle parameters that cannot be fully accessed by the scripting language: these are usually edited with tricks (torture), third-party viewers, or scripts that hack prims in ways not supported by a standard client. Examples: tapered spheres won't work, but slice is OK.
- Does NOT handle the original "Legacy Prims" retired several years ago.
- Does NOT mirror "mesh" prims; LL says they plan to add mesh mirroring to SL in the future.

- No-trans objects can be "partially" flipped and manually fixed up in some cases, using an included "LIMITED" version of the script. Textures can NOT be mirrored on limited-perm objects (except on sculpties). Sculpties on limited-perm objects require manual flipping of "mirror" property in object tab for every sculpty prim. Mirror Tool was intended for full-perm objects, so no guarantees for limited-perm results.

Mirrored a ~250 sculpted nano prim piece of jewelry seamlessly and perfectly, saving me hours of work and preventing me from ripping my expensive mesh hair out by the roots.

...because this thing is awesome. I've been using this tool for a few weeks now and it performs flawlessly. I actually just stopped in the middle of building to come and give 4 stars to this tool because it's saved me a hundred times the amount of time it would have taken me to do what the Mirror Tool did in literally SECONDS. What an incredible time-saver!

It took me a couple of months to try this and what a loss. This is a fabulous and extremely easy product to use. It will be a well used building tool from now on.I just wish I had found it years ago.

Just purchsed this along with the Bead Rez V6! I'am extremely happy! I made a pair of detailed, embelished shoes (actually just one shoe) and was so not into making the second! That's what prompted me to look around on MP for scripts! I found this one & so glad I did I will NEVER use anything else! It worked perfectly! Thank You! So Much! A million Stars!
