I hate wasting prims but I like having a place for my friends to live. I searched and searched for multi-unit housing that was reasonably priced AND low prim. I finally gave up and decided to build my own.
These units don't have a lot of extras but what they do have is LOTS of living space that is incredibly easy on the prim budget. Each unit has a huge main room and three smaller private areas. (I say smaller, however, they're still big. The main "bedroom" is over 700 square meters. (One of my friends parks a full size fighter jet in hers.) In addition to being big and low prim, I'm pretty proud of how these builds look.
They're mod copy, so you can change anything you like, and you can rezz as many as you like. You can even add a rental box and become the next SL real estate tycoon.
These units are big... they just barely fit on a 64x64 lot. (That's a 4096 if everyone was carefully when they carved things up.)
You could even use them for office space if that's strikes your fancy.
