OK. I give in. By popular demand by non-scripters, I have adapted my Mp3 Jukebox Script to work with notecards. So here goes.
!! UPDATE WARNING!! Based on feedback from customers and a few tricks of my own, this script is getting a major update soon. Anyone who has purchased this script will get the new upgrade for free. The new one will be at a higher price, so it is worth your while to purchase now.
!! WARNING END !!
No stream? Want to put music on your OWN land? With this script you can fake streaming with mp3s. NOTECARD EDITION. The main MP3 jukebox script is full mod and offers you more versitility than this version. But with THIS version, you are less restricted by number of songs and this one plays randomly. You are more restricted over control of how the script works, as this is a no-mod version. This one is a bit cheaper, the other has more potential. Your choice. :)
Some experience with web publishing assumed. :)
1) Go choose up to some mp3s out of your collection. I have tested with at least 180 mp3s so far. I guess it depends on how many lines a notecard can handle now and in the future.
*WARNING* Most mp3s in your collection are sampled to levels which will smoke most web-servers. This can cause lag on those with lower bandwidth like DSL.
Best to grab your CDs and sample in low rez copies. If you don't have your CDs handy... *cough* *cough*
There is a wonderful tool out there called Audacity. http://audacity.sourceforge.net/
2) Upload them to a web server somewhere. Some web servers are Case Sensitive.
3) Make a prim on your property. The script will only work on property you OWN. ((workaround for groupland below)) Drop the MP3Juke script into the thing and open it.
4) change the first line of the notecard to your webserver for example...
http://home.comcast.net/~dolphpun/SLmusic/
to the web server you have your mp3s on. be sure to add the trailing slash /
5) Play your mp3s in your favorite program. You are looking for the following information...
FN ... This is the part of the filename WITHOUT the .mp3
EXT ... This is the part of the filename beyond the dot ( . ) usually Mp3, but other filetypes can be played.
NM ... The name of the song.
ART ... The name of the artist
MN ... The number of minutes.
SC ... The number of seconds left over after the minutes are gone. I.E. 2:31 would be SC = 31
6) The second and third line of the notecard is as a sample. PLEASE change it to to your info as soon as possible. Keep the second line as it is ignored by the script in any case.
The Pipe character | is usually above one of the slashes. This is how you separate the values. Often times funny characters like commas and periods and spaces (oh my!) sneak into song names. This makes sure it gets the part.
(GROUP LAND ONLY) Not too happy about this, but the script is transfer now.
Take a copy, then deed the object to group. Technically group land is not "owned" by anyone. Be sure to "share with group" both the scripts and the object itself. Although group officers can change the media on the media tab, their objects can not. If the object has been deeded to the group, it will work, but will be very hard to modify. Ergo... the copy.
..... and so on.
You take all responsibility for copyrights and agree to hold me blameless by using this script.

mp3 audio jukebox playlist sound
This product is great! This is a true jukebox script, and if your server is host is personal, you can get around those pesky internet broadcast rate hikes. After all, this is a jukebox, personally owned, on a private server or host, used only for your own purposes. You are no more broadcasting than if you owned a RL club and ran a jukebox or played prerecorded music in it. At least that is my read on the matter. For me, this script is not only a good little music maker that lets ME choose the music in my club, but also gives me peace of mind I won't be hunted down by the RIAA.
Great product, when I couldn't get it to work (my own stupid fault) I even got a personal visit from DolphPun Somme who sorted it all out for me. Highly recommended! Purchased March07, paid $L367 - bargain!
This player rocks! I am not a scripter, so sometimes it's very difficult for me to understand what is going on with the code to change it to my liking. Having this notecard edition is great because it keeps my hands out of the code, it's super easy to set up (it took me longer to get the songs prepped than to plug them into this system), and I can save the playlist notecards in my inventory so that I can drag one in at any time to change what's playing.
This is perfect for someone who wants more control over what plays on your land or wants to hear something different than the same streams everyone else has going. Highly recommended!
