Quentin Beck / Mysterio made his Marvel Cinematic Universe debut in Spider-Man: Far From Home, portrayed by Jake Gyllenhaal.
Rather than a special effects wizard who turned to villainy after failing to be an actor, this version is the inventor of the holographic portion of the system that Stark showed off during Captain America: Civil War and had dubbed B.A.R.F. (Binary Augmented Retro-Framing), who was fired for an unstable nature and takes advantage of the vacuum left by Stark's death (in Avengers: Endgame) to manufacture the Elementals in a collaborative effort with ex-Stark Industries employees (including Obadiah Stane's former scientist William Ginter Riva, the acting teacher Guterman, Victoria Snow, and engineer Janice) to fraudulently establish Mysterio as an Avenger-level hero.
