--Deepspace anthro parasite--
This species was first encountered by miners in an asteroid field.
Because of the small size of the larvae, they sometimes are brought aboard unnoticed, where they grow over the long duration of deepspace travel and eventually enter the crews hybernation cabines, feeding and breeding on them.
As most anthropods they are extremly robust, while the larvae can survive frozen in outer space for centuries, even the fully grown specimen are able to overcome it for a short amount of time.
They are known to use human bodies either as food, or to lay large amounts of small eggs into their bodies, so the larvae can feed on the victim after hatching. To breed they simply bite their prey and paralize it with a chemical nerve poison, that also changes the chemical balance of the host body in order to create a suitable environment for the eggs.
Naturally, they have extremly bad eyesight. For orientation ultrasound waves are used, which makes them excellent hunters in the dark. When trying to exterminate them it has proven usefull to use that against them, confusing them with atrificial sounds.
