Mesh clothing can not, at the current time, be resized like sculpted clothes can. This means not all mesh clothes will fit all avatars. The demo is your way of finding out if the skirt will fit your avatar.
Also note that this garment requires shine and glow to be active. If your graphics are turned down very low you may not see it like in the pictures.
