New England Colonial Salt Box - Balsam Green

Details

A Saltbox is one of the oldest designs in New England. It gives an abundance of room and when properly sited, provides a long roof on the back to face the harsh winter winds. The design originated with a straight forward colonial and then as more space was needed it grew with the addition of a lean-to roof on the back.

This is a modern interpretation of a Saltbox with an open floor plan. The first floor entry that faces the cental staircase. The front room has a firplace and can be used as a livingroom or den and has the potentially to be divided for a formal dining area.

The back room has a vaulted ceiling that opens up to the second floor loft. It is suitable for outfiting as a kitchen/family room. Going up stairs takes you to the full width loft which is your retreat with a view of lower level.

Following the stairs on up, you reach a bonus room in the attic. While the ceiling is angled and low it is designed both for privacy and to provide an excellent panoramic view. Touch the ceiling prims and they have one-way transparency. Touch them again and they become opaque.

Most of the textures used in this house have been created or modified just for this project I couldn't find roof shingles, clapboards or doors that were to my liking so they were specially created.

House footprint 400 Sq Meters (20x20).
Height 14.5 meters
Number of Prims is 213
Mod/Copy/No Transfer

Doors use NDE scripting and can be locked, set to private or group, or even set to request payment. The privacy windows also use NDE scripting with options to Open, Close or Shade (you can see out but they appear closed from the outside.)

This house is packaged with Rez-Faux. You rez the package box from inventory and then follow the instructions on the blue menu. I suggest that you rez the package and then raise it about 5 meters above the ground before rezzing the structure. The box will be in front of and above the front step You can move and rotate the box to position the structure. (There are 4 pieces in the package and it is much easier to position them together with the rez package than manipulate them individually.) After you are satisfied, you can save the position of the house and then take back the package box.

Other colors are available or you can contact Lisp Hax to view a copy in-world or if you want customizations. For a reasonable cost I can further customize the textures, change the color scheme to your specification, or add interior partitions, and re-package a house with your custom changes.

If I'm not inworld, you can IM me, of course, or send email to LispHax@gmail.com. You can also find out what's in the works at my blog http://lisphax.wordpress.com/. From the Blog, there is also a link to an in-world vendor so that you can preview my homes before purchasing one.
