The castle has a footprint approximately 45m by 50m. It is approximately 45m tall. The size makes it adequate for a clan or group/family to use or be single occupancy with massive amounts of space.. There is a land usage count of 295 and includes fittings of high detail.
The main entrance is through large double doors that lead to an enclosed courtyard. From here there are entrances to two large rooms, both ornately decorated and one being of sufficient size for large gatherings. A walkway leads around the castle at lower battlements height whilst a third door leads through a passage to two more rooms and a dungeon. Plenty of space here to witness proceedings if captives are imprisoned!
Moving from the entry courtyard up a flight of steps takes us to an extensive upper battlements level. There are three rooms here, one of which has a hidden passageway out of the castle, and a well-stocked and sumptuous library. A courtyard enclosed with arches provides an area for outdoor entertainment. Leading from this courtyard are more steps to the upper level battlements. Here yet another room and at the front of the castle, raised above, as small room suitable for oversight by guards perhaps!
A large double flight of steps across another large open courtyard takes you into the Great Hall. Here there are candelabras with lit candles and an open timbered ceiling. The fireplace is a focal point of the room and is large and with a blazing fire.
The aim of the build was to provide a castle for those who value the finer things in life – sumptuous decoration and attention to detail, and makes no pretence to copy the dark and damp castles often found in SL. Oak panels, vintage wallpapers, ornate fireplaces all contribute to a comfortable place to live that will attract a great deal of attention and admiration from visitors.
Doors throughout the castle open slowly and with their own clonks and creaks! Each door may be set to open only for the owner, the group members or even named avatars.
There are torches lighting the castle and darkness provides a unique atmosphere.
TELEPORT (OPTIONAL)
A TP system is included in the sale and found in its own box within the rez-faux object. (The “jack-in-the-box” you used to rez your castle). Simple drag it to the ground, open and copy to your inventory.
There are many steps throughout the castle and you may decide to install the optional TP system. To do so merely requires you to drag a TP "stand" to anywhere in the castle. You may make up to 12 stations and apart from optionally naming them nothing else needs doing. The system automatically creates a menu listing all the places you have placed TP points.
COPY, MODIFY
It is perfectly possible to change the castle and include more rooms etc. since the structure is copy modify but anyone wishing to radically alter things might wish to contact me.. I am happy to support where possible and can change textures to suit. Clearly I’m not offering to re-design large sections but I am always concerned that the owner is completely satisfied. (If you require considerable additional work then I would ask for a fee).
Please be aware that it is possible to radically increase your land usage with indiscriminate linking and unlinking sections of the build. The best advice is make sure you have copies just in case!
REZZING.
Please place the rez box high over your land - maybe 20 metres in the air. You can easily lower and position later but rezzing high will eliminate parts being "stuck" below ground etc.
If you need any help in placing the castle or other related problems just send me a note-card. I will do all I can to help.
