This device is designed to be used at venues to count down from 10 to 1 and the change the year from 2022 to 2023.
To use this, rez it. It should rez with the current year (2022) showing, the new year (2023) hidden, and the ball is visible and at the top of the pole.
Includes security against accidental touches at venues.
You could probably add a large number of operators (but really, you'd want to limit this reduce confusion).
You do not need to add yourself. As the Owner you can operate it.
When one of the authorized AVs touches the ball, the count down begins and the ball will spin, glow and descend. When it gets to the bottom (at about a 10 second count) there is an explosion of fireworks and the year changes from 2022 to 2023.
To reset it, one of the authorized AVs simply touches it after the year changes.
FAQ
Q: How does this account for the various delays in streams of live performers?
A: It doesn't. The best way to use it have an "accomplice" in the venue who is an authorized user. The performer would announce the start of the countdown and when the performer starts the countdown, the "accomplice" touches the ball. (DUDE Did you NOT know SL is all about MAGIC??)
