YOUR NEW ALTAR, BY Ng DESIGNS

Background:

There are eight main festivals - part of earth's natural calendar, the cycles of Nature - recognised by Celtic druids, Neo Pagans and Wiccans.

These eight seasonal festivals consist of the solstices and equinoxes - four moments during the year which are dictated by the relationship between the Earth and Sun – and the four ‘cross-quarter' festivals which are not determined astronomically, but are related to the traditional pastoral calendar.

Each is marked by a very different set up of your altar.

I toyed with the idea of using a rezzer to set up the altar then realized that part of the mental preparation needed for each observance, comes from the actual physical preparation of the your altar.

Setting out and lighting the candles, placing the correct offerings, burning the incense or smudge, all helps you gain the proper focus on the task at hand.

Everything you need for each occasion is packaged with your altar, ready for use, but you will need to rez and place them by hand.

INCLUDED IN THIS PACKAGE:

Altar (6 prims) with 3 animations in the Altar cloth: Floating Meditation, Kneeling Summons, Standing Summons. All smooth looped animations – NOT static poses

Oracle Scry Mirror (4 Prims) with 35 random quotes. The surface has an animated lava script which adds an ethereal quality to the build. Simply ask the oracle your question, then touch the Mirror for your answer which appears in local chat. (for entertainment purposes only)

Sample answer quotes:

“More rides on your actions than you know.”

“Storm clouds are gathering, the time is now.”

“Be faithful in small things because it is in them that your strength lies.”

“You were born for a reason, seek your destiny”

“Revenge will not make your pain go away”.

2 Silver Goblets with wine. (Touch the wine and it disappears, touch again to refill.)

2 Golden Goblets. (Touch the wine and it disappears, touch again to refill.)

3 Bone Goblets.(One scripted for wearing with drink animation)

12 Candles in various colors required by seasonal ritual observances. All are touch on so you can light a candle for rituals or in memory of someone. When touched again the candle is snuffed out with a realistic trail of smoke for a few moments.

Pewter Incense bowl with three sticks of incense giving off trails of lazily rising smoke.

Pewter Smudge bowl with burning sweet grass, enhanced by a very realistic cloud of cleansing smoke.

Ritual Blades: Ruby dagger, Amethyst dagger, Sapphire dagger, Silver Sickle, Golden Sickle (added after pics were taken)

Scrolls: one double rolled, one semi unrolled.
Seer’s Skull

Great set

I was a little apprehensive buying this at a $750 price tag, but it turned out to exceed my expectations. I especially love the incense holder and the different jewel options for the daggers. I definitely like that the mirror and the altar are separate. It looks great in my garden. (I would not use it for an indoor altar though, the wood looks a little too rough for most indoor settings.) My sole complaint is that some of the items are copyable and some are not (such as the incense holder and a couple of the cups.) The animations are really nice and smooth. This is a great addition to my home.
