Nice Places To Visit LM Vendor
Here's how to set up this vendor:
1. Before setting up your vendor, be sure you have the following:
a. A LM (Landmark) for each sim you want to include;
b. Textures for every sim you want to be displayed. Name the texture EXACTLY the same as the LM but with "(texture)" (don't use the "" marks) at the end of it. This IS case sensitive
2. Rezz the vendor, right click it and select Edit from the pie menu. Select the "Edit linked" option in the Edit
window. Click the main screen with all the images appearing on it and open the Content tab. You drag and
drop all the LMs and textures into the Content tab of the screen.
3. Once you have this information ready, set up the .Inventory notecard (inside the same screen prim) as
follows:
Double click the notecard called .Inventory, it will open to display its contents. There are several lines
that start with # sign, these are ignored by the script and are for your information only. Below them is
the information used by the script to display the image required and give the right LM to the requesting
avatar.
(The system is a CSV (comma-separated values) file, so you'll want to set it up as accurately as possible.
See the .Inventory notecard for examples and they also look like below):
LM_Name,LM_Texture
or
Help Island Public,Help Island Public (texture)
Make sure you place them in the notecard in alphabetical order and as they are listed in the Content tab of the Screen prim.
Save the notecard by clicking the "Save" button at the bottom right of the notecard itself.
4. Once you've got everything you need inside the vendor, when it's rezzed it should reset and do an automatic system check, letting you know of any errors setting it up. You may correct those errors simply by editing the .Inventory notecard or by editing your vendor's inventory.
5. To speed up the automatic image change system select the "Next" button in Edit. In the Description line on the General tab you will see 30. This represents 30 seconds. Changing this number will alter the time period between automatic image changes. After setting the time (in seconds) you want here, click the Content tab and double click the script there. You won't be able to see the script itself but you will see the Reset button in the bottom left of the script window - click that, that makes the script look at the description line and take note of any changes you may have made.
6. To speed up the rezzing of the screen images, place the mesh prims under the vendor into edit and click "select face" on the edit window. Then you place the texture(s) on those face(s) down there. Make sure they are the same textures you put in the screen prim, that'll preload the texture for visiting avatars. The preloader doesn't need to be visible so feel free to move the vendor so the preloaders are below the sim ground, the visiting avatar's viewer will still do it's job and prelaod the images. There's enough room for a total of 32 textures on these mesh prims.
7. If all goes well, your vendor should be up and running very quickly.
