Eridan is a Troll, the dominant species of planet Alternia. Once described as "...kind of like klingons, or something." trolls are a typically violent, warrior race ruled by a hierarchy based on blood color (ie, blue bloods are LITERALLY blue blooded.)

Eridans' blood, Purple, is the second-highest type of blood in the hemospectrum. It is also the blood of a sea-dwelling troll. Like most sea-dwellers, Eridan has a natural hatred of all land dwelling lower blood castes, and would love nothing more than to see them all DEAD. As consequence, Eridan doesn't have many friends~
