Cute but...
Not only does the script limit your characters per entry, but it also limits how long (time) you have to write those characters in. Goodbye to relaxing time writing.
It also will hide the entries inside the book script unlike as notecards inside the prim as I assumed. This means you won't be exporting your entries as notecards later like I automatically assumed would be possible.
I might use the journal prim to store my crude notecard journal, and use the script for quick, Twitter-like updates... That can be copy-pasted from the chat window where it prints them when you "read entries"... I presume.
On the positive, the book is moddable, so goodbye script, and just fill the prim with notecards for now. Still makes a pretty detail in the home... Will do me for now, but will need something else in the long term.
Nice but....
Very disappointed that each entry is limited to 255 characters. IF it had said this in the descrrption or info i NEVER would have wasted money on it. Back to the Notecard system :(
Easy to Use Journal Keeping
So easy to use. No longer do I need to keep a notecard; I hate doing search in my Inventory. Rez first; I rez in my home. Then it's simply click and write. I keep track of events and what I had done in SL and can easy access past entries. I highly recommend this for people who are running a business; in my case, exhibiting in shows and running a gallery.
awesome
I love the idea and for someone that doesn't want an actual journal entry this would be good. However each entry can only be 255 characters and for that I can only give it 3 stars. I'm not really able to use this the way I had hoped, because the space for each entry is simply too limited. I'd love to see one with extended options. I talked momentarily with the creator and he was very kind. He explained that the character limit is a hard coded part of the LSL scripting language and it cannot be bypassed from a script. On that note, I think this diary is the perfect way to share a daily thought or two, perhaps a mantra even. Or set out to sent little I love you notes to your partner for them to read and maybe even reply if that's an option. If two people can't write in the same book, you'll just need to get a 2nd one, cuz how romantic is that? I say buy it regardless of the limit, cuz its pretty damned cool!
