To use it just wear it.
FIXED:
A bug where you could leave puddles behind while jumping in and out of water.
What it does:
When swimming underwater you will leave a short trail of bubbles.
After leaving the water you will drip and leave puddles (if rez is enabled) for a short period as you dry off over time.
Splash sounds and effects when leaving and entering water.
The water I am talking about is the sea level for any sim.
ALSO:
If you are flying while underwater hold C then, without letting go, hold your mouse to quickly ascend out of the water and release your mouse to fall back into the water.

It does what it says, but is dated.
The 'drops' are very cartoony.. not great for realism. The splash and bubbles work fine, but the same sound gets tiresome. Would love to hear a random splash every time. The splash effects you see in the picture do not happen at all. No particle spray when you hit the water. And the 'press c and mouse' thing doesn't do anything for me but fill my chat bar wit c's.
Otherwise, it works well enough, if you're not too picky.

After I've added a bubbles script onto my avatar to be more realistic when swimming underwater, I knew it was still lacking of something, but what? Then I've found this. Now I feel like my avatar is complete because of the noises and the effects.
You hear a *splash* when your avatar leaves or enters into SL seas. Also, there's a nice animation that you can see when it's splashing. Also, something very good and important to specify is that once out of the water, you'll see drops of water falling off of your avatar as it's drying onto the land. Fabulous!
Not annoying at all and this is from someone who lurks a lot into the waters with her nixie. So go for it if you need sounds and splashes for enhancing your RP scenes or anything of this kind. :p

I like to do the mermaid thing and it's just not as much fun going into and out of LL water like a Ninja. The other "Mermaid 'Splash'" attachment does nothing but make a splash effect when you enter the water and that's it. It's worth the price (only 15L) - but still just not quite enough.
THIS one, however, adds everything a good mermaid, merman, SCUBA diver, and even snorkelers and swimmers need for that immersive effect. This thing is great and a much-needed add-on for people who frequent the waters and beaches of SL.
Thank you for this. It works as advertised, does;t add a truckload of scripts to your avail, and really adds that effect of going into and out of the water.
