Animated Octopus – menu driven setup
This animated octopus is just simply fun. It is not small. It is almost five meters across. But then again, who is afraid of a tiny octopus? Yes, size seems to make a statement. And you can also copy it for fun, or copy it to make the new one even larger. Instructions inside tell you how to do that. It is multiple prims since we needed to simulate tentacle movement so it is 12 prims. That includes body, 8 flexi tentacles and also a beak (mouth).
We also added copy. Make several if you wish. Instructions inside tell you how to modify the size. And you if desired, may also wish to modify color for even more variety. The color used now over the texture is a gray to make it a little bit darker, and of course you can change that. We do suggest though that for safety make a copy before changes,
Instructions inside tell you, the owner, on how to use the menu driven setup. This setup allows a great number of x distances that the octopus can roam in and y distances. We do not allow z distances since we have noted in the past that in our experience, octopus traveling up and down mostly just cause problems – like leaving the water or going into the sand. You also have five choices of speed. When done, position the octopus in the center of the area you wish, save this center position using one button press of the menu (reset center), and when ready, press start. The octopus will then randomly move in the area you request - but will also turn and sometimes slant a little in order to show off its tentacles better. Much fun. Everyone should have a giant octopus.
