A Shishi Odoshi is a type of water fountain used in Japanese gardens. The thicker bamboo tube upon the frame rests with its heavier end upon a rock or hard surface. Gradually filled with a trickle of water until its point of balance is shifted, causing it to tilt over and empty its accumulated water.
Once the water has been emptied the point of balance will be restored, leaving the heavier end of the bamboo tube quickly falling to make a sharp sound once it hits the rock/hard surface. After which the cycle will repeat. This noise is intended to startle any herbivores such as deer or boars which may be grazing on the plants in the garden. Hence its name; Shishi Odoshi "scare the deer"
This mesh model is both animated as well as including sounds, easily toggled on/off by clicking the main tube. The scripts are also modifiable, but its default cycle length is set to roughly one minute.
Note: It is best not to move or edit the shishi odoshi while it is toggled on. Once turned on, the animated part will save its position, and return to it once the animation cycle is complete, this is to avoid having it drift off over time.

Nice
I've been using this since 2019, it's one of the best I've seen so far, the sound is very natural and realistic, I've seen cheaper ones but... it's like hitting the hollow reed violently or playing the drum ... xD so this price seems fair to me, it is modifiable so you can adjust the size according to your preferences, the impact prims on the ground is decent.
my only complaint is that sometimes it has delays when the rod falls in the animation, even so it seems advisable to get it. n_n
Beautiful animation
Had this given to me as a gift
It is gorgeous looking - the texturing is excellent
I love how the water pours into tube until it has filled the tube, then it drips right down to the floor, until the tube is back up to collect the water
and the script is modifiable so I can see how it;s all done too :)
