Our ASTERIA Laser Pistol is our latest sci-fi weapon, evolving on a variety of features displayed by our MAU-27 rifle. Among these include:
- A fully modular attachment system, of which can be selected via the included customization HUD. This system will allow for all future PoE-compatible attachments to be joined to the weapon, while retaining the ability to swap between them.
- Over a dozen animations for holding the weapon in a variety of ways. For example, 1H, 2H-Handguard, Dual-Wielding, male/female variations, and left/right variations!
- Dual-Wielding capable when both left/right weapons are worn simultaneously.
- A robust stat system, featuring reload speed, spread rate, min/max accuracy, delay between shots, etc, all of which change based on equipped attachments. This stat system is portrayed on our advanced HUD, indicating whether your attachments improve or degrade the weapon's stats!
- A separate, ASTERIA-compatible HUD for displaying ammo count, a reload indicator, a 1:1 accurate spread rate crosshair, and hitmarkers!
- Compatible bullet types for both LLCS and roleplay.
* LLCS rounds have both partial (25) and full damage modes!
- Raycast-based lasers, balanced for Second Life combat!
- Custom particle effects for muzzle flash and lasers! Multiple colors included!
- Mesh holsters for both hips, allowing the weapon to be worn as an accessory!
- Three preset mesh optics, one handguard, and one stock attachment, all of which modify the weapon stats! The stock and handguard in particular alter the player's animations, handguard turning the weapon into a more-accurate carbine type, trading firing delay for accuracy.
- Semi/Burst/Auto firing modes!
- Male/Female animation variants!

Pretty cool but...
Understand this. The gun is amazing, my disappointment is due to the fact I'm a sucker for the big beefy overpowered sounding weapons. This gun meets all the things you would want in a gun in sl, customizability, attachments, animations, functions its all there. But I just think it sounds... weak. Like, it makes sense, lasers are... not really supposed to be loud and maybe that's a good thing in this case but still it feels... too quiet XD. It's probably just me tho, you should still buy this gun

I had a small issue with the weapon with single left handed wielding, which was addressed in full by the creator. Fast, professional and friendly!
The gun itself is nearly perfect, especially happy to see well done animations that work with averagely proportioned avatars! (two handed female animation ❤)
I only miss a traditional physical bullet because I like to target shoot - even built a firing range for that, and sadly cannot use my new favorite weagon there, thus 4 star.
In total easily 5 stars nevertheless!
Great, but small
I would give this a 5 start, if there was a way to make it bigger, it is really nice besides not fitting well in the hands of larger avi's. It can be manually resized to fit, but keeping everything aligned properly is very difficult.

Another feat of marvel
Much of what can be said, has been said. Simply gorgeous and the best part is that they are modifiable. The guns fits a pleasant fan of scifi settings ranging from close-futuristic to significant futuristic scifi and matches well in with the norm expected for such judging by the precedent established with previous scifi communities.
Combatwise, haven't encountered much of an issue at all. The amount of rounds fired offets potential packetloss and ping to Amazon and they're fun to utilize both on semi, burst and full auto. The modular nature and changes based on attachments make them more fun to apply to an ever changing battlefield.

Amazing ideas, honestly has potential.
Unfortunately I cannot give this 5 stars as I have some issues that just can't be ignored.
The weapon's aesthetics are absolutely amazing: The mesh work here is really nice, and I can see all the little details that went into making this look as pleasing to the eyes as possible. It doesn't look too boxy by design, which I love. The work that went into the intricacies such as the customization HUD and the crosshair (which gives you feed back on when you hit targets) cannot be ignored. The tracer effects for the weapon are also really nice. The attachment system is a unique idea and I look forward to seeing what comes next.
However; everything good about this gun lies in these features. The sound design of the rifle either sounds like a tazer (without the handguard option enabled) or a defibrillator; and quite often when using this in combat I noticed that you quite often run into your own shots when running forwards (a thing that can be fixed entirely with raycast guns, this one only seems to not damage you but seems to only have one max hit so it will not let the ray proceed to find new targets).
The crosshair HUD as I said before looks amazing, but seems to clock in at a relatively high script time (by the time of writing this review I left it idle for about 2 minutes and saw the script time crawl up to 0.2ms. This wouldn't be too much of a problem if you're using it for a short amount of time and have a relatively low-script avatar, but in a combat sim it might cause issues in tandem with other scripts.
Overall this is a pretty good gun; but if I were to give this 5-stars, the rays should never register me as a target (even if I don't take damage), the crosshair HUD more optimized, and on a more personal note; the sound design isn't something I can really get behind.
4 stars for the amazing work, I really hope to see some updates and future releases.
