Starting development in 1963 and fielded from 1977 onwards, the Roland Surface-to-Air Missile (SAM) was a cornerstone of NATO air defense for multiple decades. The FlaRakPz 1 was one of the hulls modified to carry this new SAM, with the base hull being taken from the Marder IFV.

PTF Air Defense Tank Roland – Pure Realism, Pure Fun
I absolutely love the PTF Roland. It’s a game-changer for realistic roleplay—detailed, reliable, and incredibly immersive. Whether I’m defending airspace or rolling with a tank squad, it adds serious depth to the experience. A fantastic addition to any modern combat lineup.
pretty but...very weak
Nice tank, but not very practical, very slow reload time, you can't shoot if the target goes to another sim while shooting at you with long range missiles or AGM, the missiles do very little damage, if you are going to put so much reload time and slow missile firing rate, at least acceptable damage and that it can shoot the target if it goes to another sim... another problem is that the direction of the tracks is blocked, you want to go to the right and it goes the opposite way whether you are moving forward or backward
I don't like giving such a low rating...but until the manufacturer improves the scripts and damage (and I say this because I spent 10 tanks trying to shoot down an amok plane and still didn't succeed)
