The Communal or Multi Seat is designed with public areas in mind, for seating round trees or fountains, in parks or formal buildings, but of course you can use it in any way you wish.

It will seat Tiny avatars as well as regular sized ones.

Using just 2 prims, it will seat any number from 0 to 40, and there are options to change the style of seating and the number of seat positions.

There is also an option (available only to the owner) to allow others to vary the seating.

Customising
---------------

You may have purchased a seat with a certain form or texture, but in fact, apart from some limitations regarding the 'cushion' (torus) prim, you may edit the seat however you wish.

Only the ‘cushion’ (torus) part of the seat is essential for the seating, and even this can be retextured, resized, repositioned, or made oval if you like. However, to maintain the correct orientation for the sitters, it does need to remain a horizontal TORUS, TUBE or RING.

The ‘base’ prim on which the cushion rests can be edited in any way you like, or can even be deleted, or added to, to create your own seat design.

Fixed Seating
-----------------

When you specify a fixed number of seats, in effect, seat positions are created evenly spaced around the seat. A low number will therefore seat people further apart than a higher number. (The maximum number of seats is 40, due to script memory constraints, and practicality.)

As avatars sit on the seat, they are seated on alternating sides of the first seat position. When one stands up, that seat position remains empty, but will be the first to be filled by the next person that sits.

When all seat positions are filled, anyone trying to sit will be forced to stand up again, and will be told there is no more room.

Seating can be adjusted even while avatars are sitting on the seat. Their positions will be adjusted as the new positions are calculated.

Variable Seating
--------------------

With variable seating, the number of seat positions will equal the number of seated avatars, and they will be evenly spaced around the seat.

When someone sits or stands, the seat positions are recalculated and the positions of remaining avatars will be adjusted.

This is not such a sociable form of seating, but there may be some use for it.

Seat Controls
----------------

There is an option to allow ‘Anyone’ to change the seating pattern, but only the owner has access to this option.

There is a ‘Reset’ option, which will unseat any seated avatars, and reset the script.
