Because pearls often represent purity and chastity, over time they shed their unlucky image and became associated with brides. Today we often use pearls to adorn wedding gowns.

They can be used on cylindrical beads or other decorative objects as well. (You may have to manipulate the texture to get the gem looking the way you want it, but that shouldn't be too hard.)
