Tired of using those chat extenders that result in repeated echos when people are within chat distance (20m). Tired of shouting everywhere? Attach this microphone to yourself (prim is really simple, move the script into another item if you wish like a sculpted microphone or whatnot) and your public chat will be extended.
Useful for large gatherings, clubs, presentations, by region owners, etc.
Note: this only listens to the owner of the microphone (it doesn't allow eavesdropping), so is within TOS guidelines. Remember that your public chat is extended a long distance with this microphone, so only use it where you need it. No need broadcasting your chat that far if not needed.
Totally touch-menu driven with Intuitive settings. Just touch and go. Can specify range, whether it repeats over the current parcel, all parcels owned by the same person in the sim, or sim-wide, enable or disable. Range up to 4096m to reach tall sky-boxes.
Future releases/add-ons/plug-ins will include ability to cross sim boundaries (only with rezzed repeaters in each sim by the land owner or group-only to prevent griefing), ability to select a channel so that a group may talk like an FRS/GMRS radio rather than have chat repeated to everyone in range
Prim is copy/mod/no-transfer, script is copy/no-mod/no-transfer.
Please note the picture shown is just a graphic, this is just a script and a very simple prim. You may put this script in any microphone or prim you wish, or just use the "ugly" prim included :)
