Down the block and around the nook,
Folks were lined up with bowl and book.
They shuffled and sighed, “Oh goodness, oh dang,
How long must we wait for that Phở King tang?”

Then up skipped a fellow with pockets of goo,
He chirped, “Don’t fret while you stand in the queue!
I’ve caulk in my hands, it’s sticky, it’s true,
But I’ll give you some succor to help you get through.”

He dabbed it and globbed it, he spread it with cheer,
“Who needs a spoon when a caulking gun’s here?”
The people all blinked, then chuckled, then stayed,
For Phở King delights are worth any parade.

So if you’re in line and your tummy does mutter,
Remember the hero with caulky succor!
He’ll patch up your patience, he’ll paste up your pain,
Till hot bowls of phở make you whole once again.
