PheebyCo Motors Misfit Chopper - UPDATED

I originally made this for myself, so I put a lot of time, thought, and effort into it, because I wanted a really nice bike and I'm really picky. This is my take on a heavyset cruiser with a slightly chopped front end, and a 90-degree horizontal panhead v-twin engine. It took me a while to make it, and I learned a lot and it was very fun.

It's even more fun to ride it inworld though, and to share it with my friends and others.

I named it the Misfit Chopper because art is self-expression. I'm a misfit and so is this bike; I designed it all myself with no regard for any sort of time period or manufacturer's real-world design. It's anarchy on wheels, just like me~! :D

That said, I did aim to make everything as realistically detailed as possible (I've worked as a mechanic in RL before). I'm pretty confident that, having made this all by myself, I can make pretty much anything I want for my own SL now. It's a good feeling, being this free.

While I do consider this a demo for the full perms mesh model of this bike (coming soon), I don't like the idea of sticking a big "DEMO" sign on my beautiful motorcycle, and besides, I'm not selling textured and scripted bikes, just the mesh for builders. Not everyone has money, and not everyone builds stuff, and not everyone is going to be interested in buying my mesh model, but this doesn't mean people wouldn't enjoy riding my bike, so consider it a gift, if you like.

The bike itself is fully mod, I'm including all the textures and UV maps so you can play with them, and you can even de-script the whole thing and add your own preferred scripts, for all I care; just remember it might need a couple of resets and re-rezzes before changes kick in properly (this happens with vehicle scripting sometimes). It only looks no-mod because the scripts inside are set to no-mod.

Do remember that both the root prim and the mesh shell for smoothing the ride are set to transparent, and might get in the way of editing if you don't set the bike to 0% transparency before working on it.

I'm including a driver's manual, and the bike drives pretty much like bikes using the KCP or ACS scripting systems; steer with the same controls as walking, back arrow lets you go in reverse, forward and back at the same time puts on a power/speed boost, back and Page Down does a back tire burnout, repeating the keystrokes cancels it. Page Up lifts the front end to do wheelies, Page Down lowers it.

The wheels turn of course, there's more than one exhaust option, the lights work, you can lock it, it can be set to tilt to the side when parked or not, and the drive belt texture animates when running. The kickstand works. And more~!

Clicking on the bike brings up the main menu, clicking and holding for a second before letting up on the mouse button brings up the resizing menu.

Protip for shorties: My everyday avatar is 1.36 meters tall. To resize this bike for myself, I shrank it 10% at a time three times in a row, and then shrank it 5% one time. You may wish to shrink it another 5% (I wear big boots for riding, is all), but personally, this formula works for me.

The position menu may take two tries to get it to display. I have no idea why, but the same happens to me when I use ACS-scripted bikes, so yeah. I'll try to figure out why it does that and fix it.

This bike is very detailed, and the prim count shows it. There are over 160 separate parts, so weighing in at 185 LI is actually not all that bad for what you get. Besides, you can always unlink and ditch any parts you find superfluous to your style. I uploaded this with the default LOD settings, so it might take a minute to rezz, but at least it won't crumble into a handful of triangles on you when you accelerate. Besides, no public rezz zone or riding track has ever balked at letting me rezz a fancy, LOD-heavy vehicle. If anyone criticizes you, well, they're just jealous because your bike is fancier than theirs.

TL;DR: I love this bike too much to cheat on the LOD.

Enjoy, ride responsibly, and feel free to mod this thing until it's truly your own. And, if you ever get the itch to do something creative with it and share it with others, the full perms mesh for this (coming soon) will be reasonably priced. I spent a lot on uploading it all, but thanks to the generous support of my customers and patrons, my art pays for itself enough that I don't have to be greedy. I love you guys, thank you for supporting my art and fun. ^-^<3

Keep the shiny side up, ride free, and hope to see you on the road sometime~!

P.S.: I'm actively working on improving the scripts that make this thing go, and have updated this item. I can't send a bulk redelivery for some reason (possibly because I've set this as a demo item), so please feel free to buy it again, and sorry about that. At least it's free~! ^-^;
