The ship you see offered for sale here is a highly detailed, stationary reproduction of a three-masted 17th century xebec; a lateen-rigged sailing vessel with a distinctive crescent-shaped hull, and pronounced overhanging bow and stern. The advantages of lateen sails in a variety of wind conditions made these vessels popular in the Mediterranean, and their favorable handling in close-hauled wind conditions made them popular among corsairs, as these vessels could maneuver favorably in combat and pursue effectively.
This reproduction is built with a total of 656 prims, including many custom sculpted shapes. We have attempted to offer the maximum of detail possible without resorting to a 750-plus prim count, and we believe this attention to detail and efficiency in construction is evident upon inspection. Countless hours of building and revision have gone into perfecting and optimizing the design, and more improvements are yet to come, with the fruits of that future labor being automatically delivered by our automated update server (which only requires that you place the rezzer in-world for it to check with our server for a new version). The construction of this vessel has been a long and arduous labor of love and we hope that, should you choose to own one for yourself, our hard work and countless revisions and improvements will have produced a vessel which you are proud to own.

A note on movement with vessels: Smooth motion is only possible when working with a single linked object, which is not possible with a construction of this size and this number of prims. Multi-move scripts are unfortunately not a viable option, as they're very susceptible to simulator slowdown and can only move at extremely slow rates, lest obvious glitches begin to surface in their operation.
When deciding whether to make our vessels function as vehicles, we realized that the scale, level of detail, and beauty we wanted to provide was not viable within the confines of a single linked object. So, we've constructed a large ship which is instead meant to be a stationary object of refinement, suitable for display and for use as a home, or any other purpose its owners may find for it in this capacity. We hope all of our customers may enjoy it as much as we enjoyed building it.
