Weimar! Presents;
Pictures on the wall
---------------------
*ABOUT THE OBJECT:
A house becomes a home when you personalise it, when you make it yours.
The best way to do this is by putting something personal on the wall.
If you want to put pictures on your wall they cost you 1 prim each or you have to try and combine something with some graphics editing software.
But now I have made a group of pictures that only cost one prim and can be individually changed!
You get 3 different groups of pictures with copy and edit permission.
Use it for art, photos, bills, letters, drawings, posters, maps, any texture you like!
*ABOUT ME:
I am a Dutch woman obsessed with history, in RL I am a researcher.
Europe in the first half of the 20th century, inspires me especially Germany during the Weimar Republic (1918-1933).
The objects I create are especially made for The 1920s Berlin Project sim where many of the tenants often have to live in small houses and bad neighbourhoods.
More below.
*SCALE:
Most avatars and sims in SL have a totally unrealistic scale.
I hate this.
My avatar is about 6ft, just like I am in RL, compared to most avatars in SL I look like a child.
I build a sim in a more realistic scale and compared to SL in general things here are small.
That means that the objects I make are made for realistic avatars, if they seem small to you this probably is becaue you are very big.
*INSTRUCTIONS
-Rez one of 3 item called 'Pictures on the wall' by dragging it from your inventory onto the floor or a wall.
-To make sure the item has as little land impact as possible all sides are totally invisible except the front.
So if you rez it and don't see anything, walk around it or rotate your camera around that area till you see it.
-Right click and select 'edit' to move it into the desired position by clicking and moving the coloured arrows.
-The item already comes textured, you can however change each individual picture by simply dragging a picture onto the one you want to replace.
You can also make the entire group of pictures bigger.
-Right click one of the pictures and choose edit from the menu, then click 'texture' in the edit window.
You can now tweak, rotate and alter the image.
-You can link two sets of these pictures and they will only use 1 prim together!
*PRIMS/LAND IMPACT:
Land impact; 1 prim.
0.1 Download
0.5 Physics
0.5 Server
2117 Display
In short, they will only count as 1 prim but uses half a prim, that is why you can link it to another low prim object and together will still count as 1 prim.
*ABOUT MESH
If you make Mesh items bigger, they will usually start having a bigger land impact and cost you more prims.
The item should look good but from a certain distance it may look distorted.
To make sure you see mesh in SL at well as possible, you may need to change the settings of your viewer.
This generally isn't needed but if you think that mesh often looks a bit bad, you may try this;
-Click ctrl+D to add the 'advanced' tab to the options at the top of your screen.
-Click 'show debug settings'
-In the Debug Settings look for 'MeshMaxConcurrentRequests' and change the value to 128, this will not have an impact on how SL will work for you but it will make mesh look better.
