Buy this plane!

Seriously. Buy it. Don't even waste your time thinking about it. You're looking at this page because you love the look and style of the plane. Or maybe you like the RL PC-21 and want to own one in SL. No matter the reason you're here, you owe it to yourself to take this plane with you.

Great looking mesh model. Superb attention to detail with the working gauges and moving parts. It's moddable. Paintable. The flight script is a great balance between SL friendly and realistic flight behavior. You get control of the rudder independently. Great for inducing spins and scaring the heck outta your students you're training. Cause yeah, this is a trainer after all.

I can't say enough about the script. Of course, if you own any other aircraft by Tig you already know she puts her heart into her work. What makes them special is she puts her brain into it as well. Her flight scripts are the standard that others are judged by. Other manufacturers attempt (poorly!) to copy the functionality in her scripts.

This plane will make even the most discriminating pilot happy.

It got me to love it. And write a review for it.

TL;DR

BUY THIS PLANE CAUSE IT IS AWESOME! :D

Well done...

There's not much to say, is a good work at scripts and mesh. Good balance between consumed resources and details/function.

Flight script is very well done, with a little problem: seems the speed of the plane don't affects the turn behavior. Script load/count is low enough for relative smooth simcrosses.

Little bug: MIDS map throws often a error, that it can't load a texture. Bit annoying, but the plane seems to work even after this error. I'm sure that will be fixed in a update.

Weapons: not tested.

In sum: i like to fly it. Is a clear recommendation.

PS. 4 start because of the refered problems. If they get fixed - 5 stars.

Incredible Plane!

There are a lot of aircraft to choose from in SL. Many of them are quite well done. There are a few that are just plain special because they do what they do so well. This is such a plane.

To start with, it's a gorgeous aircraft. The detail is very high. The texturing is immaculate. When you see it, you just hope it flies as good as it looks (which it does.) The HUD allows you to decide how much to display in the way of controls and instruments which is appreciated.

Lets get to the flying. This is not a beginner plane. You can end up upside down, backwards and inside out if you get too heavy handed with the controls. On the other hand, keep it in normal mode and the throttle at reasonable levels and it's pretty stable. It has all the controls you'd expect; retractable gear, flaps, and even an independent rudder control. Landings are not bad as long as you don't force things. Set up a reasonable approach angle and you'll be rewarded with a picture perfect landing.

The real fun come when you go to advanced or expert mode, turn on the smoke, run up the throttle, and start throwing the plane around the sky. There's a feeling that's hard to describe, when a plane flies exactly as you'd expect it to, of always knowing which way you're facing, where the ground is, and what you have to do to make it do what you want it to. It's easily one of the most capable aerobatic planes in SL. Unlike the other aircraft in that class I own, this one has a second seat and guest mode so you can let others try it out.

There are some nice extras as well. You get a full sized display model, a desktop model, texturing templates, even a flight suit. Oh, and something else, a fully combat scripted and armed version. An entire second aircraft. Fly this plane to potential and you'll be shooting down jet jockeys without much trouble. Tig could easily have sold them as separate planes at double the price for each. As it is, one of the best planes in SL is also an unbelievable bargain.

PC-21 ...The Smoothest Ride I've had!!! ;-)

I've always been a big fan of the Tucano (PC 21) ever since the RAF bought it for training and was glad to see Tigs appear recently. I bought it and rezzed it and from the minute it was out of the box I was pleased. The body is perfect, the cockpit is very well detailed and it just gives you the feel of a solid, well made airplane. I jumped in and taxiied off to the runway with a smile on my face just because, even taxiing felt smooth and realistic. I was airborn at about 60% throttle and raised my gear and was very, very pleased with how smooth and real the handling felt. I have to say, this plane is the smoothest of the 200+ planes I have in my inventory and this says a lot about the incredible build quality and attention to detail put into this. Tig could have just thrown an old script into this and I'm sure most of us would be happy, but she has obviously worked and tweaked the script to make the physics and flight characteristics truly believable. An additional great feature is the ability to customise skins and add them to the PC21. Both new pilots and experienced pilots will all be pleased with this plane and I would highly recommend it whether its your first plane or youre a collector and enthusiast like me. You will not be disappointed with Tigs PC-21.
