There are three word settings - on/off/animated. The animated setting bounces light through the dots to spell out the word, (sort of like a Connect-4 game in appearance.) When it's finished, it cycles through them again.
There is a scrappy little video I made, (see linked,) that both explains how to alter the colors to noobs, and also allows you to see the lights in action.
They are owner-only operated, so you'll have no worries someone may mess with them or change the settings when you're not around.
The Li listing shows the size they'll be when they come to you. They are easily resized, but the Li is likely to change in the process.
The sign comes with a basic AO already on the frame, and you choose your colors through the standard edit meu. The rest of the sign didn't require an AO, but if you decide to turn the black part to another color, you'll see there is AO shadowing there, too.
