Angelus Silesius, a German mystic and poet from the 1600s, once said, “Time is of your own making.” The Abune designers liked the phrase so much, they had it delicately painted onto a clock face.
Abune took one look at the design of this new clock and, after nodding his hearty approval, said, “That is the color of the polyester, double-knit tuxedo I wore to my high school prom — but there’s a word for that shade of blue, and I can’t remember it.” So he consulted with an Italian color specialist, who said, “Are you thinking of POWDER blue?” Abune said “Indeed.” The Italian said, “In the old country, the word for POWDER is Polvere.” And Abune decided it was a perfect name for the clock.
In fact, he noticed that color in both a small and a large rug in the same room, and he named those Polvere also. See them below in Related Items.
