The best Chess Set in Second Life just got even better!
My Sculpted Chess Set was first developed in 2007 and was the first fully-functional chess set in Second Life to use sculpted prims for the pieces. This has the great advantage that each of the chess pieces is a single prim.
Version 6 has been completely refactored, to take advantage of new, efficient scripting techniques that have recently become available. This means that the game is much faster, uses MUCH less script memory, and its idle CPU time has been reduced to almost nothing. It also has a new user interface which does not require the use of temp-rez prims. You can buy this safe in the knowledge that its memory usage has been made as efficient as possible.
Features
- Each piece is a single sculpted prim.
- Low prim count of only 39 prims for the entire chess set, including the table, chairs and clock.
- Ultra-low memory and processor utilization.
- Players can choose whether to sit at the table or not.
- Automatic camera positioning when player sits.
- Click a piece to move it, and then click the square you want to move it to.
- Full support for castling, "en passant" pawn capture, and pawn promotion (including under-promotion).
- Illegal moves, such as moving your king into check, castling out of check or castling across check, are not allowed.
- Undo move(s) up to 20 moves back (by mutual agreement).
- Automatic Checkmate and Stalemate detection.
- Chess Clock, with support for Bronstein or Fischer delays. Can be set up by owner or by players prior to starting a game.
