There are 2 parts to this product which I will give the instructions for here, though you may only have one or the other, both sets of instructions may still be relevant to you!
======THE CHEST======
The chest is an item you rez in-world and it allows people that have the HUD aspect locked on to access their inventory. I have included a configuration notecard so that, in the event you want to use your own model, it should be easy enough to do so.
Before we get into customizing the chest, to use it is simple enough, on a single click, the chest will either open or close and when open allows HUD users in range (default 2m) to access their inventory.
Registered people in the list can toggle it between a locked and unlocked state which will allow or prevent the chest from being accessed and thus prevent giving users of the HUD the ability to access their inventory (at that chest anyway). To toggle the lock state, click and hold the chest for 2 seconds or longer and the lock should appear or disappear.
There are a couple of settings which can be configured in the notecard. The first is the range, which is the maximum distance away the HUD user can be to access their inventory. In the notecard this looks like the following:
R=2
The next setting is which link number you want to use as the lock prim. This will have an effect on all the faces of the selected link. The default is link 3 and is displayed like the following:
L=3
The setting after that is verbose mode. Setting it to 0 makes it IM the person locking the box and setting it to 1 makes the box whisper in local chat when it is locked/unlocked. it is edited with the following:
V=1
And then the last thing we can configure are the names of avatars that can access (lock and unlock) the chest. This is done with a legacy name and 1 name per line. The owner of the chest is NOT included in the access list by default in case they want the ability to be locked out of it.
If you wish to use your own model for the chest that the door only functions when the chest is unlocked, the chest script sends a link message on channel 5 with the command "dooropen" to open the lid and "doorclose" to close the lid.
======THE HUD======
For the HUD I have included 2 versions, one is just a script you can put into any object, along with the access list notecard, you might always be wearing if you want to save on that attachment spot but also a hud that has some little textures that indicate status of locked/unlocked and open/closed.
Access to both of these is the same, you can either touch to get the menu (for a HUD this only works for the wearer, but if used as an attachment on the body then this works for everyone else) or by saying /100 [first 2 letters of first legacy name]menu so as an example:
Maya Shenley would be /100mamenu
Inside the contents of the HUD is an access list notecard that has a list of those who can always access the HUD’s menu, no matter the locked state. The names are handled the same way as in the chest, so it's the legacy name of the avatar you want to allow access to per line.
Within the HUD’s menu, there are a few options, a solid check (◼) marks the option as enabled.
By default, all the inventory options are restricted so that when the HUD is locked, they are all blocked, but these can be individually toggled.
There is also the option to allow Public access, so anyone can access the HUD to control it if they know how.
Another toggle you will find is the “SelfAccess” which will let the wearer access the HUD at any point as long as it is checked. Please note that if Public mode is toggled on and the HUD is locked, the wearer will lose access unless “SelfAccess” is enabled.
