A flawlessly rigged original mesh for this price? Unbelievable but it seems to be true!
HOLOGRAM was known to me only as a reference in nails; it was actually a surprise to see a *dress* being advertised under their brand!
And dirt cheap, too. So cheap, in fact, that I didn't even give it a second thought; this is exactly the kind of dress cut I love, the colour is right on spot, and, well, even though the picture is perhaps not one of the best, I gave it a try. Did I mention the price? Right. To be perfectly honest, I wasn't expecting much; 'regular', high-quality dresses would easily have costed four or five times the price.
Maybe this is some kind of weird promo? Maybe HOLOGRAM is just experimenting with a few outfits here on the SL Marketplace to see what sells better? I have no idea. Whatever the real reason might be, I bought it in an instant :)
And, to my astonishment and surprise, the dress fits *flawlessly*. I mean that I didn't even need to use the Maitreya Lara HUD to 'fix' the kind of issues I'm so used to on the 'competition' (i.e. using alphas to conceal body parts that aren't supposed to visible beneath a fitted, rigged, mesh dress...).
What I *was* expecting — since this was just a very simple dress, uniformly coloured, etc. — was an unscripted mesh from another creator (such as the ubiquitous Meli Imako). The price range, after all, seems to point in that direction; the texturing is rather 'simple'; and the presentation (image & description) on the Marketplace is minimalistic — all telltale signs for a third-party mesh which just got a new texture.
But that doesn't seem to be the case at all!
Instead, you get five different meshes for as many popular meshed bodies, and a notecard (containing a very brief explanation on how to get support). All ready to wear — no need to unpack anything, or use a HUD, whatever. Just pick the one that matches your meshed body and wear it — it's as easy as that! The meshes even seem to be original, and the dress is really lovely and masterfully rigged — it's made for dancing! Loved it!
