QUEEN LILI OF HAWAII STATUE
Aloha!
This is a statue of Queen Lili'uokalani, Queen of Hawaii from 1891 - 1917. The statue stands near the palace in Honolulu.
The inscription on base says, "E Lei Hole Liliu Lani E"
A further inscription says, "Given with Aloha by the people of Hawaii".
Lydia Liliʻu Loloku Walania Kamakaʻeha was the only queen regnant and the last sovereign monarch of the Kingdom of Hawaii, ruling from January 29, 1891, until the overthrow of the Hawaiian Kingdom by on January 17, 1893 by American business men and pineapple growers supported by the U.S Marines.
