✎ HISTORICAL DESCRIPTION
The sallet was a helmet that replaced the bascinet in Italy, western and northern Europe and Hungary during the mid-15th century. In Italy, France and England the armet helmet was also popular, but in Germany the sallet became almost universal. In essence the earliest sallets were a variant of the bascinet, intended to be worn without an aventail or visor. To cover the vulnerable throat area, sallet helmets were mostly worn together with a protective item called “bevor”.

For a L$100 unrigged modifiable helmet, it's one of the best I've come across in sl. The shape and size of the original mesh makes it quite easy for adjusted to multiple head shapes and the chin strip is not put of the helmet mesh so it's adjustable on it's own which is outstanding for a better looking fit. The texture is also "bland" enough so to speak in order to permit color tinting that further provides more customization to match your attire.
