AlienChat automaticlally hides when you are not typing in public chat. You can wear it all the time! Just drag onto your body to wear.
HINT: Since it is hidden when not typing you can select VIEW->SHOW TRANSPARENT from the SL menu to show it (if you need to adjust it).
