[REKT x TREVOR] - MANTIS ARMS - (FATPACK) Versión Sep/2024

So this is my second take on this item after giving it a try in different areas and all around SL.

Originally, i gave it 4/5, complementing the great looks and functions that it comes with, and indeed this item looks amazing, the sound design and everything, SFX leave no doubt it was crafted with bravado in mind.

One star i had to remove due to the lack of tinting,shine, custom texture application ability. Despite it having multiple colors to select from, you still can not mod the item to match your outfit., and in the era of PBR old texture start to stand out. Customization is a paramount feature every cyberpunk item must have, as expression is everything. So that's a minus.

ANOTHER, yet perhaps the most important, glaring issue i encountered with this item was a terrible scripting optimization. When travelling around places an admin told me i was causing lag, upon further investigation it turns out that these Mantis Arms, even when in a turned off state cause EXTREMELY massive amount of object updates (AKA times when the object changes states via scripts ie), here's the gif: https://gyazo.com/e132f8eadbdde265c7d90f1c8990a9fc

That amount of object updates causes A LOT of stuttering, delays with the server communication not only when you enter and leave the sim, but also while present in between. And it was not even a busy sim, i can't even fathom how much of trouble one can cause with tons of people around.

So in general, this item just looks great, can be used for taking pictures and playing around with a friend on a lonely sim. IT"S NOT for populated areas where every cpu millisecond is accounted for (Btw its CPU time consumption is extra high too up to 0.20 ms (thats a lot) https://i.gyazo.com/bb7ee0702f9f5e9bd6c6493bb25298c3.png)

So, 3/5, no more, no less. Disappointing kinda.

i was drunk when i bought these cause i thought they looked really cool. and they do look cool. but they aren't fitted for jake at all. i could probably alpha out the parts of the arm that clip, but it clips right where the prosthetic meets the shoulder so its either deal with the clipping or not wear it unfortunately. the legacy male version fits the best, but still clips for those looking to use this with the jake body.

Being a fairly consistent buyer of Rekt & Trevor's stuff, I was doubtful enough of the previous review to get these regardless - no regrets. Can't say I experienced any of the previous review's issues, body fit is clearly stated - i tested them on the bodies stated and the fit is great. Arms do not detach on their own. Just quality and function as usual for the creators.
